Understudy runs AI mock interviews. This notice explains what we collect, why, who processes it and how long we keep it.

What We Collect

• Account details: your name, email address and, if given, phone number; a password hash (never the password itself).
• Your CV, as text, and the details read from it (role, years of experience, technologies). It is added by the team that gave you access.
• Your interviews: the questions, your spoken answers as audio and as text, timings, the scores and the feedback.
• Technical data needed to run the service and keep it secure (IP address, browser).

Why

• To build interview questions from your CV and run the interview.
• To evaluate your answers and give feedback to you and, as set up, to the team that gave you access.
• To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.

We start recording only after you give consent at the start of each interview, and we store when you gave it.

Who Processes It

The interview voice, speech-to-text and the AI evaluation use OpenAI’s API: your audio, CV text and answers are sent to OpenAI for this purpose. OpenAI does not use API data to train its models by default. Our hosting and storage providers store the data for us. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who Can See It

You see your interviews and, when enabled for an interview, your feedback. Admins of the team that gave you access see your profile, CV and full interview reports.

How Long We Keep It

• Audio recordings are deleted automatically after 90 days.
• Your account, CV, transcripts and reports are kept until you or the team that gave you access asks for deletion. Deleting an account removes all of it, including recordings.
• Sign-in sessions expire after 14 days.

Your Rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, and withdraw consent for future interviews, by contacting us or the team that gave you access. We answer within 30 days.
